everything rides on hope now:

From the recent tragedy, I have learned that we own nothing. Not the cars that we drive or the beds that we sleep on; not the money that we spend…not even the clothes on our bare skin.

We. own. nothing. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

And the sooner we realize that, the sooner we’ll be able to acknowledge that we are not our things. We are not our possessions. We are not even our achievements or accomplishments or our grandiose works of art.

In the face of losing everything, we learn that all we truly are is the love that we give which can never be devastated by calamity or ruined by war. It is the only thing in this world that persists and never runs out. Ever.

So keep on giving. Always always keep on giving.

To the volunteers and donors, the rescue team, the poster makers, the prayer warriors and the people who are actively working to help get the nation through this mess: you guys are my heroes. Thank you.

This is so beautiful. My prayers go to you, themorninglight.

My friend's boyfriend died today

I don’t usually reblog, but this has to be shared :c

vivatregina:

He had dengue and fell into a coma. I found out a couple of hours ago that he’d passed away. I never got to meet him because I haven’t really hung out with her since college, but I looked at his Facebook profile out of curiosity. Right now, people are leaving him messages about how much he meant to them, how much they loved him; beautiful things — a testimony to the kind of person he was.

It got me wondering, why do we never say these things until it’s too late? When my friend Camille died in our junior year of high school, there was such a great outpouring of love, and sometimes I wondered if she might have lived if she’d known how we felt about her. Why do we never tell those we care for about the myriad ways they make our world wonderful? It saddened me to know that there was such an expression of love for this guy I never met that he’ll never have the opportunity to hear.

Tell someone today. It can be one person, it can be all your friends, but please, if someone matters to you even in the slightest of ways, let them know. Don’t keep your love hidden away. It’s easy to say that you express your love in your actions towards another person, but I think everyone can attest to the fact that sometimes you really need to hear it. Sometimes it really needs to be said to you for it to really sink in.

For the record, Tumblrfolks — followers and followed alike: I love you. You never fail to put a smile on my face every day.

Foto Surge: My Ultimate Photodump.

Since I messed my Project 365 up and I have a million random photographs to upload, I decided to set up Foto Surge, a rule-free version of the Project 365.

I might resume my Project 365, but it wouldn’t be 365 any more, right? Hahahaha.

Just visit this site instead. Haha.

SORRY!

As you all know, I fscked this up.
So.

hmm. hi guys.
will you forgive me and let me continue or
or should I just abandon this altogether?

Y/N

If I can get ten of you to comment with a yes then i’ll continue and pretend nothing happened.
If I can’t, then, well… yeah. So much for this project. Hahahhaa.

About:

Regine B. David
Photographer | I BFA Information Design

Project 365 will be my own personal attempt to upload one photograph per day. It could be anything taken that day, be it a random snapshot of a cloud or an elaborate glamour shot. My only rule is that it must be taken on that day itself. And yes, only one photograph per day!

This site will be updated as often as possible, hopefully with the photographs not exceeding a week over deadline. Yes. Haha.

Enjoy!
